I've been trained in several different forms of therapy over the years, including cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, acceptance and commitment, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness, but I also know that what therapy techniques I use won't matter that much to you. I can also tell you, and science agrees with me, that your relationship with me will be what matters most for your therapy to be fruitful. Do I feel like someone you can trust? Someone who will help guide you to being the best version of yourself? All of the therapy skills in the world won't replace that basic feeling of safety.

​ Sharing the scariest thoughts you have, thoughts that you may even try to hide from yourself is terrifying. Getting honest with yourself about where you are and how far that is from whom you want to be can seem overwhelming. Opening up about traumatic experiences can feel impossible.​ Whom you choose to share these deep thoughts with is so important.

 

When you work with me, we will take things at your pace. We will make sure you have the tools in your toolbox so that you are ready to make changes. Together, we will address your specific goals and make a realistic plan to get you there. This is a journey we will take together. You don't have to do it alone anymore.​
